Maldives Magic
For our final jaunt as just the two of us, Squiz and I ventured a short way to what we expected to be paradise. To our amazement the water was as clear as all of the pictures you see on the internet and in the magazines. Instantly we melted into the magical Maldives. We stayed at Bandos Island Resort and Spa which had everything that we needed and wanted... and more.

Under the water was a completely different world. In all of the times that I have snorkelled I have never seen such abundance of colourful fish. Now maybe I haven't been to the right places, but I was impressed by what the Red Sea and the Great Barrier Reef had to offer, but this surpassed my experiences there. Squiz, who does actually dive, thought it was amazing aswell. The other thing that was memorable for me was that we were swimming with Sharks. They weren't all that big, maybe about one metre, and not the human devouring kind, but they were SHARKS!!!!!! Squiz swam after one, and it turned around and swam straight at me.... I quietly almost soiled myself till it turned away... We also saw an octopus, stingrays, a turtle, eels and a million other fish that I have no idea of what they are called... Nemo was there though. There was only one whale that we saw, and we managed to get a picture of it too...
Eating icecream at the pool bar... arrhhhh, how romantic.

As we only had three days there we made the most of it by swimming, working out, eating, sleeping and snorkelling. No diving for me due to my 'confinement' - I love that description! So Squiz decided not to go diving as this weekend was about 'us'. Didn't matter as there was plenty to see from just under the surface.
