Back down to earth

I was waiting for Squiz down at Gorak Shep. I met up with Squiz there two days after the summit day. As the 21st May was Walk the World day we had been given the OK to get a choppper down to Kathmandu to join in on the celebrations..... We'd arranged it and were ready to go, but unfortunately is was a really crappy day. we waited for hours till the cloud went nowhere and we had to start walking. We were only able to get the chopper if we could make it back to Kathmandu in time to send photos to Rome before the end of the working day... Nope! We'd had our luck - it was time to walk back down to Lukla - a two day walk. Still there was enough energy to smile, despite the fact that Squiz looked extremely worn out (and hairy)!


As soon as we got home to Kathmandu the WFP family gave us a very warm Nepali welcome.
