The final product

After such a long time, we have finally hung our Lokakhe Dhoka (Squirrel Doors) that we had carved in Nepal in 2006.

The mountains are Mt Everest and Mt Ama Dablam. The left Squirrel is male and the right female. Down at the bottom we've had carved some little footprints to represent children and family incoming, as a welcoming to our home.
Our house doesn't really need any more doors - we bought one with just the right amount, but here they are hanging in the atrium. Ok, so they don't lead anywhere, but they are really a work of art within themselves... and could be fun to pretend there is another room behind them.
